UPDATE #1–The Massachusetts State Police Troop H Detective Unit continues to investigate yesterday’s shooting incident on Route 93 in Braintree. No arrests have been made at this time.

To clarify the nature of the victim’s injury, he suffered a minor impact injury when the round that was fired struck the side of his Ford Explorer. The round did not penetrate the victim, who declined medical transport.

As noted yesterday, during an interaction or altercation between occupants of two vehicles that were traveling northbound around 2:50 PM, a shot was fired by an occupant of one of those vehicles. The round crossed into the southbound lanes where it struck the victim’s vehicle.  The victim was not involved in the incident on the northbound side and is not believed to be the shooter’s intended target.
