Truck Duty

Troopers assigned to our Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section -- commonly known as the Truck Team -- help make Massachusetts roads safer by ensuring trucking companies, drivers, and vehicles are complying with federal and state laws and safety requirements. Truck Team Troopers enforce all federal motor carrier regulations, conduct weight and mechanical inspections, and assist in investigating serious commercial vehicle crashes. These efforts make highways safer for both truckers and the motorists who share the roads with them alike. The unit is consistently honored by the federal Department of Transportation for its contribution to making our state's commercial vehicle crash fatality rate one of the lowest in the country.
