Around 8:15 yesterday morning, Troopers from the Millbury Barracks got a call of a bear standing in the middle of McKeon Road over Route 146 in Worcester. Worcester officers and animal control were able to contain the bear and a hasty perimeter was established.

Troopers and Massachusetts Environmental Police positioned themselves close enough to the bear to tranquilize the bear and snap a few interesting photos. The sedated bear was moved to a more accommodating location, away from major roadways and population centers. After a refreshing nap, the bear was released uninjured.
