MSP Colonel Mawn appoints two new chaplains to State Police Chaplain Corps

This morning, Colonel John E. Mawn Jr. had the honor of swearing in two new Massachusetts State Police Chaplains. State Police Chaplains provide non-denominational support and counseling to department members. Chaplains often work side by side with the department’s Employee Assistance Unit.

Father Christopher Peschel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel & Saint Teresa of Calcutta School in New Bedford, and Father Mark DeAngelis from Saint Bridget Parish in Framingham were welcomed to the Chaplain Corps during a ceremony in the Colonel's office at General Headquarters.

The photos show Father Peschel and Father DeAngelis with Colonel Mawn, taking the Oath of Office for the Chaplain Corps. In attendance during the swearing in, were Deputy Superintendent Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Pinkham, Detective Lieutenant James Massari of the Superintendent's Office, and Reverend Doctor Kate Galop, State Police Chaplain Coordinator.
