Governor Healey Names Geoffrey D. Noble as Massachusetts State Police Colonel

Governor Maura T. Healey today announced that she has selected retired Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble of the New Jersey State Police as the next Colonel of the Massachusetts State Police.

Following the announcement, Colonel Mawn issued the following statement:

“Today, I welcome Geoff Noble to the Massachusetts State Police and congratulate him on his appointment. It has been the honor of my career to serve in this leadership role, and I would like to express my gratitude to the men and women of the Department for their extraordinary work during my tenure. Despite the challenges facing our profession, they consistently conducted themselves with professionalism and compassion.

“My respect for Governor Healey has only deepened over the course of my time here and I am eternally grateful to her for the opportunity she extended to me in February of 2023 to lead this premier, full-service law enforcement agency. Her decision to appoint Geoff Noble as Colonel reflects her longstanding commitment to do what she believes is right for the Department’s public safety mission. I have spoken with Geoff to offer him my congratulations and full support.

“I have a deep, profound love for the Massachusetts State Police and all those who work here. In this moment when the Department’s success is so closely linked to Geoff Noble’s success, I will do everything I can to support him, and ask every member of the State Police to do the same.”
