At 9:04 AM today Massachusetts State Police patrols, along with Boston Fire and Boston EMS, responded to a four-car crash on Gallivan Boulevard at Oakridge Street in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood that resulted in one of the vehicles hitting the house at 85 Gallivan. Two of the vehicles that were damaged were parked at the time.
The crash involved the following vehicles:
A 2016 Ford F150 pickup operated by a 63-year-old Dorchester man, with a 63-year-old Dorchester woman as a passenger;
A 2018 Jeep Wrangler operated by a 19-year-old Dedham man;
A parked 2018 BMW X3; and
A parked 2019 Honda Odyssey van.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the sequence of events began with a collision between the Ford F150 and the Jeep Wrangler on Gallivan Boulevard. That collision caused the F150 to veer off the road and strike the foundation of the house at 85 Gallivan Blvd., and the Wrangler to strike the two vehicles parked on Oakridge Street. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The driver of the F150 was transported to an area hospital with possible minor injuries.
City of Boston inspectors responded to the scene to evaluate damage to the house.
