At approximately 6PM on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, Cambridge Police Officers, Massachusetts State Troopers, and Cambridge Fire and EMS personnel responded to a crash between a station wagon and an electric bicycle on Gerry’s Landing Road. The bicyclist suffered suspected serious injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack was generally northbound in the left lane while, simultaneously, the bicyclist was crossing Gerry’s Landing Road generally westbound in a marked crosswalk. The station wagon and bicycle collided.

The bicyclist, a 57-year-old Watertown woman, was thrown from the bike and suffered apparent serious injuries. She was transported to Beth Israel Hospital. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 75-year-old Somerville man, had no apparent injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by Cambridge Police and the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Troop H Detective Unit, and State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Troopers from the State Police-Boston Barracks also responded to assist at the scene. The scene was cleared just before 9PM.
