Single-Vehicle Crash on Rt 495, Bolton, Claims Lives of Driver, Dog

At 8:35 PM Monday, a 2007 Mini Cooper with New York registration was traveling south on Route 495 in Bolton when the operator suddenly swerved, apparently to avoid hitting an animal that was in the road. The sudden steering input caused the operator lose control of the car, which went off the road to the right and struck a small tree.

The operator, who was wearing a seatbelt, was determined to be deceased at the scene. He is identified as Seyhan Isik, 31, of Bogota, N.J., A dog in the vehicle, who was also belted, was also determined to be deceased at the scene. A passenger, a 30-year-old woman from New York City who was also belted, suffered minor injuries and was transported to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and is being conducted by the State Police-Leominster Barracks, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
