State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Raynham

State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Raynham

At approximately 3:40 p.m. today Troopers assigned to State Police-Middleboro responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck on Route 24 southbound at the Exit 13A off ramp in Raynham.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 2006 Honda motorcycle, operated by a 53-year-old man from Wilton, Conn., was involved in a collision with a 2016 International Truck, operated by a 32-year-old man from Baltimore, Md. The Honda was merging from Route 44 onto Route 24 southbound and struck the rear passenger side tires of the International which was traveling on Route 24 southbound.

The operator of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries in the crash. Life-saving efforts were performed, however, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The operator of the truck was not injured.

 The name of the victim will not be released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police along with the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, Bristol County State Police Detective Unit, and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section. Troopers were assisted on scene by MassDOT, Raynham Fire and EMS. No further information is available at this time, please do not contact the barracks directly.
