Crash in Stockbridge Leaves Wales Man Dead

At approximately 7:32 a.m. today, Troopers from State Police-Westfield and State Police-Lee responded to reports of a logging truck crash on I-90 Westbound at the 5.6 mile-marker in Stockbridge.

Upon arrival, troopers located a logging truck had gone off the left side of the highway, crashing in a gulley in the median. The driver was identified as Roger F. Tetreault, 73, of Wales, was determined to be deceased on scene.

The left lane was closed until approximately 2:52 p.m., until the truck was towed and crash reconstruction was complete.

The remaining facts and circumstances remain under investigation by troopers assigned to the State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Section (CMVES), Troop B Headquarters, State Police Detective Unit assigned to Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office, State Police Crime Scene Services Section (CSSS), State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section (CARS),  and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MA DOT) all assisted on scene.
