State Police investigating fatal crash in Littleton
September 14, 2019
A single-vehicle crash at about 11:40 a.m. on Route 495 in Littleton resulted in the death of the operator.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Eric West indicates that a 46-year-old Leominster man was traveling on Route 495 Northbound, south of Exit 30, in a 2015 Honda CRV when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle causing it to travel off the right side of the roadway and crash into the tree-line.
The operator and sole occupant was entrapped in the vehicle and, following extrication by members of the Littleton Fire Department, was transported to the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
State Police were also assisted on scene by members of the Littleton Police Department.
