Troopers and K-9 nab NY man for suspected heroin trafficking in Sturbridge

A motor vehicle stop on Route 84 in Sturbridge on Saturday morning led to the arrest of a New York man for trafficking in heroin, among other charges.

At about 8:10 a.m., Trooper Carly Muscaro, a recent graduate of the 84th RTT, and her Field Training Officer, Trooper James Farrell, stopped a 2015 Infiniti Q40 on Route 84 Eastbound for speeding.  The operator, FEIDEL BAUTISTA, 33, of Bronx, New York, was determined to have a revoked Massachusetts driver’s license.  Additionally, information provided by BAUTISTA about the vehicle’s owner and his destination seemed to lack veracity.  BAUTISTA was placed under arrest for operating with a revoked Massachusetts license.

The vehicle was subsequently searched by Trooper Scott Davis and K-9 CAIRO.  The dog positively alerted on an area of the vehicle and further search revealed a hidden compartment with a large quantity of a substance believed to be heroin secreted inside.  BAUTISTA was, therefore, additionally charged with trafficking in heroin.  He was held on $25,000.00 bail pending his arraignment in Dudley District Court this morning.
