Two Men, One Juvenile Charged with Trafficking Narcotics in Holyoke

Last evening, at approximately 6:51 p.m., Trooper Matthew Mielke, who is assigned to the Troop B Community Action Team (B-CAT), was observing traffic on I-91 southbound in the city of Holyoke, when he queried the registration of a Subaru Impreza, and learned that the registered owner had a suspended Vermont driver’s license. Trooper Mielke attempted to locate the vehicle to no success.

Later, at approximately 7:47 p.m., Trooper Mielke observed the same vehicle, now traveling northbound on I-91 in the city of Holyoke. Trooper Mielke then stopped the vehicle. The driver was identified as GREGORY CYR, 38, of North Adams. With the assistance of Trooper Brendan Murphy and Trooper Gerald Perwak, CYR and two passengers, FELIX BURGOS, 22, of Worcester, and a 17-year-old juvenile male of Springfield, were subsequently found to be in possession of approximately 986 bags of suspected heroin and/or fentanyl, weighing approximately 19.72 grams.

CYR AND BURGOS were placed under arrest and transported to the State Police – Northampton Barracks for booking. The juvenile was released and will be summoned to Holyoke Juvenile Court at a later date.

CYR is charged with the following:
1.            OUI Drugs;
2.            Trafficking in heroin (18-36 grams);
3.            Trafficking in fentanyl;
4.            Possession of a Class A drug, subsequent offense; and
5.            Conspiracy to violate drug law.

BURGOS is charged with the following:
1.            Trafficking in heroin (18-36 grams);
2.            Trafficking in fentanyl; and
3.            Conspiracy to violate drug law.

The 17-year-old juvenile will be summoned for the following:
1.            Trafficking in heroin (18-36 grams);
2.            Trafficking in fentanyl; and
3.            Conspiracy to violate drug law.

CYR and BURGOS were held on $25,000 until their arraignment in Holyoke District Court.
