An early morning well-being check led to the arrest of a Waltham man on OUI and gun charges at Tenean Beach in Boston.
At about 2:45 a.m., Troopers Christopher Pittman and Frederick Rockett were on patrol on Conley Street in Boston when they observed a 2019 Honda Civic parked and running in the Tenean Beach parking lot in Boston. The vehicle was blocking the entrance to the lot. Additionally, this lot is a Department of Conservation and Recreation parking lot which is closed to the public after dark.
The troopers approached the vehicle to conduct a well-being check on the operator, who appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat. The troopers attempted to wake the operator, later identified as DOMINIQUE MILTON, 26, of Waltham, with no immediate success.
When the man finally awoke, and upon further investigation, troopers formed the opinion that the man was under the influence of liquor and they then placed him under arrest. During an inventory of the motor vehicle before towing, troopers located a loaded Amadeo Rossi SA 38 Special handgun, which was determined to be stolen out of Alabama. Additionally, MILTON was not properly licensed to carry a firearm or be in possession of ammunition.
MILTON was booked on the following charges:
- OUI Liquor
- Possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Possession of ammunition without an FID card
- Carrying a firearm while intoxicated
MILTON was arraigned in Dorchester District Court later this morning.
