13 Grams of Crack Cocaine Seized from Motor Vehicle Stop in Bernardston

At approximately 10:45 p.m., on Saturday, Trooper Anthony Lavigne assigned to the State Police-Shelburne Falls Barracks stopped a 2014 Mercedes-Benz on I-91 northbound just prior to Exit 28 for motor vehicle violations.

As a result of an investigation, the driver, MICHAEL TOWNSEND, 42 of Williamstown, VT., and his passenger, WENDY QUADROS, 42, of Graniteville, VT., were found to be in possession of 13.8 grams of crack cocaine. Both parties were placed under arrest and transported to the Shelburne Falls Barracks for booking. 

MICHEAL TOWNSEND was charged with the following offenses:

Possession to Distribute Class B;

Possess Class B;

Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law;

Possess Open Container of Alcohol in MV;

Speeding ; and

Marked Lanes  Violation.

WENDY QUADROS was charged with the following offenses:

Possession to Distribute Class B;

Possess Class B;

Conspiracy to Violate the Drug Law; and

Possessing an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.

TOWNSEND and QUADROS were held on $5,000 bail and later held at the Franklin House of Correction pending their arraignment in Greenfield District Court today.
