UPDATE: Massachusetts State Police Troopers continue to investigate the death of a young woman recovered from the Charles River yesterday morning, and efforts to identify her are ongoing.

A postmortem examination was performed today by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner; some results are still pending. No autopsy results are being released at this time.

We continue to seek the public’s help in identifying the victim. In addition to the description released yesterday (repeated below), today we are releasing an image of a tattoo on the victim’s rear left hip. The tattoo may be the astrological symbol for the Virgo horoscope sign. The first image below is the actual tattoo. Below that is a stock image of the Virgo symbol.

The victim is a  black female, aged approximately 18 to 25 years old, approximate 5′ 5″ in height and weighing approximately 120 lbs. The body was clothed. Anyone who knows of a missing person who matches that general description or has a tattoo like that, or anyone who has any other information possibly related to the victim, is urged to call the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit at 617-727-8817.
