State Police Investigating Serious Crash on Route 1 in Foxboro

Just before 8 p.m. Friday Massachusetts State Police units responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 1 at Pine St in Foxboro resulting in injuries to four people. 
Preliminary investigation indicates that a Toyota RAV4 sport utility vehicle operated by an 80-year-old man was turning left from Pine Street onto Route 1 northbound. To reach the northbound lane, the RAV4 has to cross three southbound lanes on Route 1.
At the same time, a Ford F-150 pickup truck was being operated southbound on Route 1 by a 64-year-old man. The F-150 impacted the left front bumper of the RAV4, causing to spin around. The pickup was pushed to the left and ended up on the northbound side of Route 1. 
The driver of the RAV4 was transported by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His passenger, a 64-year-old woman, was transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center. 
The driver of the F-150 and his passenger, a 60-year-old woman, were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation into the facts and circumstances of the crash is ongoing and is being conducted by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. No further information is being released at this time.
