Operator Identified from Monday’s Fatal Crash in Palmer

Just after 6 a.m. Monday troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Charlton responded to reports of a single vehicle crash on Route 90 eastbound at mile marker 60.8 in Palmer. Upon their arrival they observed a 2006 Pontiac G6 in the wood line to the right side of the roadway.

For reasons still under investigation it appears the vehicle traveled onto the grass median to the left side of the road, then corrected back onto the road where it ultimately traveled off the right side of the road before striking a guardrail then a number of trees.

Palmer Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the operator, identified as Jenna Klaisle, 34, from Syracuse, New York, to Baystate Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

The exact circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by troopers assigned to the Charlton Barracks, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, and detectives assigned to the Hampden County State Police Detective Unit.
