Officials to increase awareness about public safety and transportation plans in advance of the resort-casino’s June 23 opening
State and local officials will join Encore Boston Harbor representatives to discuss public safety and transportation preparations in advance of the resort-casino’s grand opening on June 23, 2019.
The media advisory will be held on the Encore property’s Harbor Walk tomorrow (Wednesday, June 19) at 1 p.m. On site parking will be available for media.
Encore Boston Harbor and state and city officials would like to take this opportunity to remind the public about the variety of available transportation options that have been designed to create a convenient and elevated travel experience for guests, while minimizing disruption to neighbors.
Since February 2019, Encore Boston Harbor has hosted bi-weekly transportation meetings with local and state authorities, developing a comprehensive plan to identify and address public safety and traffic-related concerns. Participating agencies include: Massachusetts State Police (MSP), Everett Police Department, Boston Police Department (BPD), Chelsea Police Department, Malden Police Department, Medford Police Department, United States Coast Guard, MSP Marine Unit, BPD Harbormaster, Everett Marine Unit, Everett Transportation Department, Boston Transportation Department, MassDOT Highway Division, MBTA Operations and Planning, Boston Public Works, Massport, and the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.
