MSP Gang Unit, Fitchburg Police Arrest Woman for Trafficking Opioids

Members of the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit and Fitchburg Police yesterday arrested a local woman whom an investigation identified as a heroin and fentanyl trafficker.

Troopers and officers arrested ROSEMARY DELOSSANTOS, 29, of Fitchburg in a parking lot on Whalon Street yesterday afternoon. Following the arrest, Gang Unit Troopers and Fitchburg Police, along with a State

Police narcotics detection K9 team, executed a search warrant at DELOSSANTOS’ Depot Street apartment.

During the sweep, MSP K9 Drago, handled by Sgt. Brian McKenna, showed interest in several locations. Troopers and officers subsequently located quantities of a heroin/fentanyl mixture and cocaine, as well as several OxyContin pills.

In all, the investigation into DELOSANTOS resulted in the seizure of more than 300 grams of heroin/fentanyl.

DELOSSANTOS was transported to the State Police-Leominster Barracks, where she was booked on the following charges:

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl (3 counts);
  • Trafficking in Heroin/Morphine/Opium (2 counts);
  • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute; and
  • Possession of Oxycontin with Intent to Distribute.

Additional agencies and units assisting in the investigation were the Troop C Community Action Team and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
