Victims Identified in Fatal Crash in Holyoke

Update: The driver in yesterday’s fatal crash on Route 91 in Holyoke is identified as, Nathan Guevara, 25, of Westfield.  His occupants who sustained serious injuries are identified as a 23 year-old woman from Westfield, and a 4 year-old male toddler.

Troopers Investigating Fatal Crash on Route 91 in Holyoke

At about 11:30 last night, a single vehicle crash on Route 91 in Holyoke resulted in the death of the operator.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper David Allen shows that the 25-year-old male operator was traveling on Route 91 southbound passing the Scenic Rest Area in Holyoke when, for reasons still under investigation, the 2008 Nissan Sentra left the roadway and rolled over. The vehicle was also occupied by a 23-year-old woman and 4-year-old child who are expected to survive.

This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. 

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending family notification.

State Police were assisted on scene by Northampton Fire and EMS and MassDOT.
