State Police Investigate Fatal Crash in Medford

Yesterday at approximately 7:30 p.m., Troopers from the State Police–Medford Barracks responded to a single vehicle crash on Route 93 southbound in Medford that resulted in the death of the operator. 

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Joseph Flynn indicates that Florence Bisson, 52, of Haverhill, was traveling on Route 93 Southbound in Medford between Exits 33 and 32 in a 2005 GMC Envoy when, for reasons still under investigation, she lost control of the vehicle and crashed. The woman was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. 

All lanes on Route 93 southbound in Medford were closed and traffic was being diverted off Exit 33 for a time while members of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section could investigate the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, Middlesex State Police Detectives Unit, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. 

Members of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and Medford Fire Department assisted on scene as well.
