November 12, 2018 — This morning, at approximately 8:52 a.m., Trooper Joseph Hall, of the State Police Troop C Community Action Team (CAT), was monitoring traffic on North Main Street in the city of Leominster, when he stopped a 2007 Toyota Yaris as it entered Route 2 Eastbound from North Main Street, for motor vehicle violations, to include a recently cancelled vehicle registration.
As a result of an investigation, with the assistance of Trooper Corey Sheenan, the driver, identified as MICHAEL L. MAGEE, 65, of Maynard, was found to be operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. A passenger, after first providing a false name, was subsequently identified as SHAVAR A. BELLAMY, 32, of Fitchburg, was found to be in possession of a loaded Colt .380 pistol. BELLAMY is not licensed to carry a firearm or ammunition.
Both MAGEE and BELLAMY were placed under arrest and transported to the State Police Barracks in Leominster for booking.
MAGEE was charged with the following:
1. Operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license
2. Unregistered motor vehicle
3. Uninsured motor vehicle
BELLAMY was charged with the following:
1. Felon in possession of a firearm
2. Possession of ammunition without a permit
3. Possession of a firearm without a license
BELLAMY was held on $1540 bail and MAGEE was held on $40 bail, pending arraignment in Leominster District Court tomorrow morning.
