State Police investigating fatal crash in Lexington

September 28, 2018 – At about 3:45 A.M. this morning, a crash involving a tractor trailer and a pedestrian on Route 95 Northbound in Lexington resulted in the death of a man.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Michael Capotosto indicates that a 40-year-old man from Northampton, Pennsylvania was traveling on Route 95 Northbound between Exits 30A and 30B in a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer when his vehicle struck a male pedestrian. That pedestrian was transported to Lahey Hospital in Burlington where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

The cause of this crash, including why the pedestrian was in the roadway, remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collison Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and troopers assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed at this time.

State Police were assisted on scene by Lexington Fire and EMS and Lexington Police.

The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been determined.
