Crash in Northborough, Stow Man Deceased

Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 09232018 – Crash in Northborough, Stow Man Deceased

This evening, at approximately 8:20 p.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Holden responded to reports of a crash on I-290 westbound, at the 17 mile-marker in Northborough.

Upon arrival, Trooper Thomas Mace discovered that a 2016 Ford Ranger, driven by a 38-year-old man from Stow, collided with a 2000 Ford pickup, driven by a 30-year-old man from Johnston, Rhode Island.

The 38-year-old man from Stow was transported by Northborough EMS to UMass Worcester on Lake Ave in cardiac arrest. Preliminary investigation revealed that the man had a medical issue which caused the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. His identity will be released tomorrow, after family notifications have been made. The 30-year-old man driving the pickup had minor injuries.

The right lane was closed during the incident. The scene was cleared at approximately 9:24 p.m.

The remaining facts and circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by troopers from the Holden Barracks.
