Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 06172018 – State Police Investigate Hit and Run in Revere, Arrest Man for OUI
Early this morning, at approximately 2:20 a.m., calls were received of a bicyclist struck by a vehicle on Revere Beach Parkway in Revere. Callers reported the vehicle that struck the bicyclist did not stay at the scene. The vehicle reportedly fled Route 16 westbound.
Upon arrival, near 943 Revere Beach Parkway, Trooper Stephen Thomson located a bicyclist, a 56-year-old man from Winthrop, who had been struck and sustained non-life threatening injuries. The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to Mass General Hospital.
A short time later, Chelsea Police located and stopped the suspected vehicle, with the bicycle still attached to the front end, on Washington Avenue in Chelsea.
Troopers responded and after a brief investigation, identified the driver, JOSUE FLORES-OCHOA, 27, of Everett, and placed him under arrest for several offenses.
FLORES-OCHOA was charged with the following offenses;
2. Leaving the scene of a personal injury crash
3. Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle
4. Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
The remaining facts and circumstances are currently under investigation by troopers assigned to the State Police Revere Barracks. No further information is currently available.
