Massachusetts State Police Release – 09072017 – Man Arrested with Illegally Possessed Firearm in Sterling

Tuesday afternoon at approximately 4:20 p.m., Trooper Matthew Dunne of the State Police Barracks in Holden was on patrol in Sterling, when he stopped a Volkswagen Jetta for violations on Route 12 near Beverly Drive for motor vehicle violations.

The three occupants of the vehicle were all identified during the traffic stop. As a result of an investigation, one of the passengers, KEVIN W. JEAN, 26, of West Boylston, was found to be in illegal possession of a loaded Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun. With the assistance of Sterling Police Officer Brian Bourque and Trooper Christopher Call, JEAN was placed under arrest.

JEAN was charged with the following offenses:
1.            Possession of a large capacity weapon or feeding device
2.            Possession of firearm without FID card
3.            Carrying a loaded firearm
4.            Improper storage of a large capacity firearm
5.            Possession of ammunition without FID card
6.            Failure to wear seat belt

JEAN  was transported to the Holden Barracks for booking. JEAN was scheduled for arraignment in Clinton District Court yesterday.
