Massachusetts State Police Media Release—04072017—Fatal Crash in Medford
This morning at about 6:15 a.m., Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Medford responded to a single-vehicle crash into the Lens Crafters store located at 4110 Mystic Valley Parkway in Medford that resulted in a fatality.
Preliminary reports indicate an adult female was driving westbound on Route 16 when, for reasons still under investigation, she lost control of her vehicle. The car travelled over the curb and drove into the Lens Crafter building. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was determined to be deceased at the scene.
The Lens Crafters Store was not open or occupied at the time of the crash.
This crash remains under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and State Police Crime Scene Services Section. State Police were assisted on scene by Medford firefighters and EMS.
