Massachusetts State Police Media Release—03312017— New York Man Arrested For Trafficking Heroin.

On Tuesday March 28 at about 5:45 p.m., Trooper Gerald Perwak assigned to the Troop B Community Action Team (CAT) was on patrol when he observed a white Chevy Equinox traveling on Route 291 eastbound in Springfield. Trooper Perwak observed the Chevy fail to stop at the bottom of the Dwight Street exit.  He subsequently stopped the vehicle on Dwight Street.

The operator was identified as REY FLORES, 37, from Bronx NY.

As a result of an investigation and search of the motor vehicle a hidden compartment containing 25,000 packs of Heroin with a street value over $100,000 was located. Trooper Perwak was assisted by other members of the B Troop CAT team, Troopers Polinski, Murphy, Tudryn and Sergeant Scott.

FLORES was arrested and transported to the Springfield Barracks where he was booked. Bail was set at $10,000. After booking FLORES was transported to the Hampshire House of Correction.

FLORES was criminally charged with the following offense:

  1. Trafficking in Heroin
