Pedestrian Struck on Route 93 the O’Neill Tunnel in Boston

Update: As of 9 p.m., all travel lanes in the O’Neill Tunnel were re-opened.  The investigation continues into the cause of the crash and identifying the victim by troopers assigned to Troop E, the State Police Suffolk District Attorney’s Office, Crime Scene Services, and the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section.

Pedestrian Struck on Route 93 the O’Neill Tunnel in Boston

At approximately 7 p.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks Ted Williams Tunnel responded to reports of debris on the Route 93 north inside the O’Neill Tunnel in Boston.  Preliminary investigation by troopers revealed a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

An investigation as to the cause of the crash and the identity of the victim is ongoing by troopers assigned to Troop E, the State Police Suffolk District Attorney’s Office, Crime Scene Services, and the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section.

Both the left lane and the center lane are currently closed with only the right travel lane open.
