State Police Investigating Drowning in Plymouth

Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 08142016 – State Police Investigating Drowning in Plymouth

Today, at approximately 11:12 a.m., troopers from the State Police Bourne Barracks responded to reports of a drowning at Curlew Pond in Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth (was reported earlier as Carver).

While responding, troopers were advised that the victim, a 69-year-old man from Taunton, had been removed from the water and CPR was being administered to him.  Witnesses reported the victim was not wearing a personal flotation device.  Troopers assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.

Massachusetts Environmental Police, Plymouth Police, Plymouth Fire and EMS Departments, also assisted on scene.

The man was subsequently transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced deceased.
