Massachusetts State Police Media Release 02172016 – State Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect in Lawrence

Yesterday, State Police arrested a man on Broadway Street in Lawrence for an alleged armed robbery which occurred earlier in the day in Salem, New Hampshire.

At about 2:00 p.m., State Police received a report of an armed robbery at a Market Basket on Route 28 in Salem, N.H. It was reported that the suspect robbed a female at knife-point and stole her wallet.

At about 2:25 p.m., Trooper Shawn McIntyre of the Massachusetts State Police Gang Unit located the suspect vehicle, a blue, 2000 Nissan Altima, which was traveling on Broadway by Lowell Street. Trooper McIntyre stopped the vehicle and, following a subsequent investigation, located items believed to be associated with the incident, including a large hunting-style knife.

The driver, DEVIN MACK, 31, of Derry, N.H. was placed under arrest as a Fugitive from Justice. He was booked at the State Police barracks in Andover before being transported to the Middleton House of Correction pending his arraignment in Lawrence District Court today. Salem N.H. authorities will be seeking charges in their state related to the incident.
