State Police Arrest Operator of Fuel Tanker for OUI Drugs

Yesterday, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Troopers from the State Police Barracks in Concord received several reports from travelers on Route 128 southbound of a propane tractor trailer driving erratically. Trooper Angela Guerrera assigned to the State Police Barracks in Concord was dispatched and observed the propane tractor trailer commit motor vehicle violations. Tpr Guerrera activated her emergency lights and siren and stopped the tanker on the southbound side of route 128 in Lexington.

Trooper Michael Spencer assigned to the State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Section assisted Trooper Guerrera.

The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as MICHAEL BAIN, 43 of Peabody. As a result of an investigation by Trooper Guerrera, BAIN was placed under arrest for operating under the influence of drugs. He was transported to the Concord Barracks where he was booked and held pending bail. BAIN was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Drugs, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Class A, a subsequent offense and Marked Lanes violation.
