Massachusetts State Police Media Release — 04052015 — Troopers Investigate Crash With Serious Injury In Westford

At 4:30p.m., troopers assigned to the State Police Barracks in Concord responded to reports of a one car crash on Route 495 northbound near Boston Road in Westford. The initial investigation indicates that a 2005 Lexus crossed three lanes of traffic and exited the right side of the roadway. The operator, a 39-year-old from Lakeworth Florida, sustained serious injuries and was transported by Medflight helicopter to Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston. The passenger, a young child who is not being identified, suffered minor injuries and was transported by Westford EMS to Lowell General Hospital .

The northbound lanes of Route 495 were completely closed for approximately 15 minutes for the landing of the Medflight helicopter and loading of the injured operator. The cause of the crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
