UPDATE: Two Injured in Single Car Crash on Route 2 Eastbound in Leominster

UPDATE: Massachusetts State Police Media Release–02-03-2015–Two Injured in Single Car Crash on Route 2 Eastbound in Leominster

Today at 11:35 a.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Leominster received reports of a one car rollover crash on Route 2 eastbound, near the junction of I-190 in Leominster.  Members of the Leominster Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services also responded to the scene.

Troopers discovered a 2012 Toyota Corolla on its roof in the median of the highway.  No other vehicles were involved in this crash.

The operator, 68-year-old Jim Fitzpatrick, and his passenger, 55-year-old Donna Fitzpatrick, both of Shelburne, Mass., were taken from the scene by ambulance to Heath Alliance Leominster Hospital.  Initial indications suggest that their injuries are not life-threatening.

The travel lanes of Route 2 eastbound were impacted for approximately 30 minutes as the car was removed from the median.

There is no additional information available in this matter at this time.

The cause of this crash is under investigation by Trooper Ray Burton from the Leominster Barracks.
