UPDATE: Massachusetts State Police Media Release — 01142015 — State Police Investigate Pedestrian Struck on Route 1 in Peabody

This morning at about 12:18 a.m., State Police from the Danvers Barracks responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on Route 1 North in front of Red’s Tavern in Peabody. Information collected in the investigation by Trooper Gary Sacco indicates that a 2012 Honda CRV was traveling northbound when it struck a 33-year-old female from Haverhill, who was walking in the left travel lane of Route 1.

The female pedestrian, 33-year-old Noelle Learned-Jemiolo of Haverhill, was transported to Lahey Medical Center where she was subsequently pronounced dead. The operator of the CRV, 51-year-old Brendan Kennedy of Ipswich, was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section. No charges have been filed at this time.

State Police were assisted on scene by Peabody Police and Fire and Mass DOT.
