Last evening at approximately 6:45 p.m., Trooper Nicholas D’Angelo of the State Police Barracks in Sturbridge stopped a Honda Accord on I-84 Eastbound in the town of Sturbridge for motor vehicle violations. The operator was identified as DARIEL ABREU JOSE, 21, of Bronx, New York. The passenger was identified as DWIGHT MARTINEZ, 26, also of Bronx, New York.
As a result of an investigation, a hidden compartment was located inside the vehicle, which contained bags of Oxycodone pills, weighing approximately 226 grams. Both men were placed under arrest. Trooper D’Angelo was assisted by Trooper Francis Ducharme.
ABREU JOSE was charged with the following:
- Trafficking in Heroin/Morphine/Opium
- Marked Lanes Violation
- Failure to Dim Headlights.
MARTINEZ was charged with the following:
- Trafficking in Heroin/Morphine/Opium.
Both were held on $5,000 bail each, pending their arraignment in Dudley District Court.
