State Police Arrest Springfield Man After Motor Vehicle Pursuit

Massachusetts State Police Media Release–12262014–State Police Arrest Springfield Man After Motor Vehicle Pursuit

This morning at 1:06 a.m. a trooper from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Leominster stopped a motor vehicle on I 495 northbound in Harvard for speeding.  After initially coming to a stop, and while the trooper was speaking to the operator, the vehicle accelerated away from the trooper.  The trooper returned to his cruiser and a motor vehicle pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit the suspect vehicle, a 1998 Nissan Altima,  traveled northbound on I 495 to Littleton then changed directions traveled southbound on I 495 and eventually entered I 290 westbound.

In the area of exit 7 on I 290 westbound in Auburn troopers successfully deployed tire a deflation device bringing the suspect vehicle to a safe stop.  The operator was arrested without further incident.

The suspect identified as DOMINIC J. MAY, 20 of Springfield was transported to the State Police Barracks in Leominster and booked.  The vehicle was towed to the Leominster Barracks.

During processing MAY was found to be in possession of an ammunition feeding device loaded with 10 .22 cal rounds.

MAY is charged with the following:

1. Failure to Stop for the Police

2. Speeding

3. Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle

4. Person under 21 in Possession of Alcohol

5. Possession of ammunition without and FID card

6 Operating Under the Influence of Drugs

Troopers from the Leominster barracks and K-9 section continue to search the pursuit route for potential additional evidence.

MAY will be arraigned at the Clinton District Court today.

Nobody was injured and no other vehicles or property damaged during this case.
