UPDATED 2245hrs Massachusetts State Police Release — 11252014 — State Police Monitoring Protesters

State and Boston Police units have responded to Clarendon Street entrance to Mass Pike to prevent a large group of protesters from walking onto Pike and disrupting traffic. Throughout the day we have been monitoring social media and other intelligence urging protesters to block the Pike. Some of them now appear to be attempting to carry that out. Numerous units relocating to Clarendon ramp to Pike at this time.
 

UPDATE 2205hrs Massachusetts State Police Release — 11252014 — State Police Monitoring Protesters

State, Boston and Transit Police continue to hold a line in the area of the Melnea Cass Blvd and the Mass. Ave. Connector to prevent protesters from entering Route 93. Additionally, troopers along the Southwest Corridor in Boston are prepared to assist with crowd control should a second large group of protesters march to Boston Police Headquarters. State Police have responded approximately 80 additional troopers to assist those already at the scene. Protesters have generally been peaceful; arrests have been made, however. We do not have an exact number of arrests at this time.

 

UPDATE 2056hrs Massachusetts State Police Release — 11252014 — State Police Monitoring Protesters

State and Boston Police have established a line blocking the approximately 1400 protesters on the Mass. Ave. Connection from accessing Route 93 (Southeast Expressway). All available State Police units in Boston area are responding. We are working to direct the protesters to an area where they can be contained. The situation is fluid. We will update you as information becomes available.

 

Massachusetts State Police Release — 11252014 — State Police Monitoring Protesters

Massachusetts State Police Troops E and H and Boston Police are currently monitoring an estimated 1,400 protesters in the area of the Massachusetts Avenue Connector in Boston. The destination of the protesters is uncertain at this point. We are aware of the possibility that they may try to walk onto a major state roadway to disrupt transportation. Troopers and Boston officers have established a line on the Mass. Ave. Connector that would prevent protesters from entering Route 93. Other possible scenarios include protesters marching toward the South Bay House of Correction. We will update you accordingly when more is known.
