UPDATE to State Police Investigate Hit and Run School Bus Crash in Quincy.

UPDATE to Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 09/26/2014 – State Police Investigate Hit and Run School Bus Crash in Quincy.

At about 3:40 P.M., State Police from the South Boston Barracks responded to a report of a crash on Route 93 NB just prior to exit 9 involving a motor vehicle and a school bus. Information collected in the investigation by Trooper Michelle Sutherland indicates that 22-year-old Zacharriah Peeples of Brockton was driving in the breakdown lane, entered Route 93 North and struck a school bus, operated by 45-year-old Makinson Sinai of Randolph.  Peeples fled on foot from his vehicle after the crash but became stuck on the top of a fence which had razor wire.  He was taken into custody by Quincy police.

Peeples was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained as a result of encountering the razor wire. None of the students on the bus, who were from Hingham and Cohasset Junior and Senior High School, were injured. Peeples has been charged with Operating Under The Influence Of Drugs, Leaving The Scene Of A Property Damage Accident, Malicious Destruction Of Property Over $250, B&E Daytime, Disorderly Person, and Trespassing. Bail was set at $750 bail and he will be arraigned at Quincy District Court.
