UPDATE: The black Phantom BB Gun shown in the picture was found inside the white Pontiac.
Last evening at approximately 8:50 p.m., troopers from the State Police Barracks in Middleboro responded to Battles Farm Housing Complex in the city of Brockton for a report of individuals in possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
Troopers observed a white Pontiac Sunfire and a green Jeep parked on Battles Farm Drive. The operator of the Sunfire was identified as ANGELA RANSOM, 29, of Brockton. Her passenger was identified as NATHAN YASSEN, 22, of Brockton. The occupants of the Jeep were identified as SAMANTHA BOTTARY, 19, of Brockton and ROBERT BUTTLAR, 23, of Brockton.
As a result of an investigation and search of both vehicles revealed a Mossberg 16 gauge Shotgun and 6 Winchester XP3 12 gauge high velocity Sabot slug ammunition were located. The shotgun barrel measured 16 inches long and the end cut down. The shotgun’s serial number was defaced and scratched off.
The arrested parties were charged with the following offenses:
ANGELA RANSOM, Possession of a Sawed-Off Shotgun; Possess of a Firearm with a Defaced Number; Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card; Conspiracy.
NATHAN YASSEN, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card; Conspiracy; Possess of a Firearm with a Defaced Number; Possession of a Sawed-Off Shotgun.
SAMANTHA BOTTARY, Conspiracy; Possess of a Firearm with a Defaced Number; Possession of a Sawed-Off Shotgun.
ROBERT BUTTLAR, Conspiracy; Possess of a Firearm with a Defaced Number; Possession of a Sawed-Off Shotgun.
The four were transported to the State Police Barracks in Middleboro where they were booked and held pending bail.
Troopers Brock Morrissette and Paul Dunderdale were assisted at the scene by Trooper’s Keith Ledin, Luke Bonin and Robert Dubois Jr.
