State Police K9 Located Two Suspects in Overnight Stabbing

Neko6Massachusetts State Police Media Release–073014–State Police K9 Assists Haverhill PD Locating Two Suspects in Overnight Stabbing

 

Last night at approximately 11:30 p.m., Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Andover and Newbury Barracks, A-Troop Headquarters in Danvers, Crime Scene Services Section, and Trooper Daniel Purtell with his K-9 partner, Neko, responded to assist the Haverhill Police Department in their search for two subjects wanted in connection to a stabbing. Two male subjects were seen running from area of High Street and Temple Street. Trooper Purtell deployed K-9 Neko on a track from nearby blood spatter that had been located by Haverhill officers.

 

K-9 Neko tracked through the neighborhood to the back door of a house where Trooper Purtell observed additional blood spatter on the back porch and door handle. Trooper Purtell and Neko entered, checked the basement, and located two subjects matching the description of the two that had fled the scene. Both subjects were placed into custody and turned over to the Haverhill Police Department. Please contact the Haverhill Police Department for additional information concerning this incident, including the circumstances of the initial incident, the suspects’ names, and the resulting criminal charges.
