Massachusetts State Police Release–03272014–State Police Arrest Two Men in Snowblower Theft

 

On Wednesday, March 26th at approximately 1:10 p.m., Sergeant Brendhan Shugrue of the B Troop Community Action Team was monitoring traffic on Main Street in Springfield. A computer check of a red Mercury revealed that the vehicle had attached license plates. Sgt. Shugrue observed the Mercury enter the 1 Stop parking lot. Two occupants of the Mercury were observed entering and leaving two pawn shops.

Sgt. Shugrue learned that the Mercury and the occupants were involved in a larceny of a snowblower from a Springfield resident earlier in the day. Sgt. Shugrue was assisted by Troopers and Springfield Officers and as a result, two men were placed under arrest and the snowblower was located in the Mercury.

The suspects have been identified as Jonathan Ryan, 33, of West Springfield and Tanner Ryan, 19, of Springfield.

Jonathan Ryan was charged with the following:

  1. Receiving Stolen Property over $250.00
  2. Larceny over $250.00
  3. Trespass
  4. Operating with a Revoked License Subsequent Offense
  5. Attaching Plates
  6. Unregistered Motor Vehicle

 

Tanner Ryan was charged with the following:

  1. Receiving Stolen Property over $250.00
  2. Larceny over $250.00
  3. Trespass
