Serious Injury Crash in Canton

Massachusetts State Police Media Release –10202013–Serious Injury Crash in Canton    

Tonight at 7:53 p.m. Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Milton responded to a crash, on Interstate 93 Southbound, at exit 2B in Canton.  On arrival, troopers found a single vehicle crash involving a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the operator, a 43-year-old male from Dedham, lost control of his motorcycle.  The operator sustained serious, life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.  He was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital by medical helicopter.  The motorcycle passenger, a 36-year-old female from Dedham, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.  She was transported by ambulance to Norwood Hospital.  Interstate 93, North and South, was closed for a short period of time for the helicopter.       The facts and circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation by troopers from the State Police Barracks in Milton.  Troopers assigned to the Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, Canton Fire/EMS Department and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation assisted at this scene.     No further information is currently available.  Please do not call the barracks directly.
