Massachusetts State Police Release—04052013—Troopers Assist Wrentham Police in Pursuit of Breaking and Entering Suspect

This morning at approximately 2:00 am, Troopers assigned to the Massachusetts State Police Barracks at Foxboro received a request for assistance from the Wrentham Police regarding a motor vehicle pursuit of a suspect wanted for breaking into a motor vehicle in Wrentham. The suspect vehicle was a 2005 Toyota Rav4 and it was traveling on Route 495 south in Norton.

The State Police Foxboro Barracks relayed this information to the State Police Middleboro Barracks. Shortly thereafter, Trooper Adam LeBlanc deployed tire deflation devices known as stingers, along Route 495 south at Exit 10.  The Toyota was able to avoid the stingers and it exited Route 495 south at Exit 9. The Toyota then entered Route 495 north at which time Trooper LeBlanc crossed over the median and deployed the stingers a second time. The Toyota struck the stingers, causing it to become disabled at the Exit 10 off ramp.

The suspect fled the Toyota on foot on Route 123 in Norton. Members of the Wrentham Police apprehended the suspect after a brief foot pursuit. The Wrentham Police Department is the lead agency for this investigation. For case specific details please contact Lieutenant Detective McGrath of the Wrentham Police Department at (508) 384-6915.
