Massachusetts State Police Release–04212013–State Police Arrest Four in Worcester

Sunday, April 21, at approximately 7:15a.m., Trooper Michael Cotton assigned to the State Police Barracks in Holden was conducting speed enforcement on Route 290 east in the city of Worcester when he observed a blue Subaru travelling at a high rate of speed and make several motor vehicle infractions.

As Trooper Cotton activated his emergency lights he observed the vehicle take exit 15 at an accelerated speed.  Trooper Cotton followed the vehicle down the ramp and observed the vehicle had crashed into a business at the intersection of Shrewsbury Street and Prentice Street.  Trooper Cotton observed three of the four passengers fleeing from the vehicle.  Trooper Cotton pursued all three passengers and subsequently placed them under arrest. They were later identified as JABRIEL NABULSI, 18, of Worcester, KARLA OCASIO, 17, of Worcester and a juvenile male.

During the brief foot pursuit, Trooper Cotton observed NABULSI carrying two shopping bags. An inventory of the bags revealed $148,030 in cash. NABLUSI admitted he stole the money from a parked motor vehicle in Worcester.

The driver of the Subaru, later identified as, MICHAEL TISDELL, 17, of Worcester, also fled on foot after the crash.  TISDELL was found at a residence in Worcester and placed under arrest by Troopers Jason Berry and Jeff Gilbert and officers from Worcester Police.

All four parties were transported to the State Police Barracks in Holden where they were booked, charged, and held pending arraignment at Worcester District Court.

MICHAEL TISDELL was charged with the following offenses:

1.  Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 90-10

2.  Speeding 90-17

3.  Marked Lanes 89-4A

4.  Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle 90-24o

5.  Leaving the Scene of Property Damage 90-24c

 

JABRIEL NABULSI was charged with the following offense:

1.  Disorderly Conduct 272-53f

 

KARLA OCASIO was charged with the following offense:

1. Disorderly Conduct 272-53f

 

The juvenile male will be charged in Worcester Juvenile Court.
