Yesterday at 7:57 p.m. , Trooper Dan Riopel a member of the Massachusetts State Police Troop C Community Action Team (CAT)  attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Rte. 190 in Sterling for speeding.  The vehicle operator refused to stop and a short motor vehicle pursuit ensued.  The fleeing operator lost control of the vehicle on Leominster Road in Sterling and crashed in to the home located at 261 Leominster Road Sterling.  The operator fled on foot from the crash scene.  The female passenger Kayla M. THERRIEN, 22 of Worcester, Mass remained in the vehicle.  Ms. THERRIEN misled troopers by misidentifying the operator.  Ms. THERRIEN and was eventually transported by ambulance to Health Alliance Leominster Hospital for evaluation of unknown injuries sustained in the crash.

Troopers from the Holden and Leominster barracks along with a Massachusetts State Police K-9 Team responded to the area of the crash and conducted a search for the operator.  The operator, Jarrod A LAMORE, 21 from Fitchburg was discovered by Trooper Brian Frechettte and his K-9 Nanuk, at 9:20 p.m. hiding under a set of stairs inside a barn located on Pratt Junction Road in Sterling.  LAMORE was arrested and transported to the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Holden.  He was held overnight and will appear in Clinton District Court today.

LAMORE was charged with; Operating Without a License, Failure to Stop for the Police, Speeding, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident, Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, and Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

The home at 274 Leominster Road in Sterling sustained significant damage to the left side of the home in the area of the carport.
