Massachusetts State Police Release–032013–Massachusetts State Police Seize Kilo of Cocain and $28,050 during motor vehicle stop in Stubridge.

This morning at 5:40 AM Trooper Dylan Morris from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Sturbridge made a motor vehicle stop on Rte. 84 EB in the town of Sturbridge that resulted in three arrests and the seizure of a Kilo of Cocaine along with $28,050.   The vehicle stopped was a livery van traveling from New York City to Lawrence, Mass.  During the motor vehicle stop Trooper Morris discovered that the operator, Ferilyn Holguin, 27 from NY City had an outstanding arrest warrant for operating without a license.  He was arrested on that warrant.  Mr. Holguin requested that a passenger identified as Ramon Suero, 40 from New York City take control of the vehicle.  Further investigation revealed that Suero was concealing a Kilo of Cocaine under his sweater.  The cocaine was packaged in six individual heat sealed bags strung together and worn like a bandoleer around Suero’s body.  Suero was arrested and charged with Trafficking Cocaine.  The amount of cocaine seized has a street value of approximately $24,000.    Another passenger, identified as Manuel Perez, 44 or Lawrence, MA had an outstanding arrest warrant for operating without a license.  Mr. Perez was arrested on that warrant.  During a later search of the van Troopers discovered $28,050 in cash secreted in a black plastic bag.

Mr. Holguin will appear in Worcester District Court today on the warrant.  Mr. Suero and Mr. Perez will appear in Dudley District court today.
