Massachusetts State Police Release–02052012–State Police Investigating Single Vehicle Crash in Canton – Five Transported to Area Hospitals
This morning at approximately 3:55, troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Foxboro and Framingham responded to I-95 northbound on the ramp to Route 128 northbound in Canton on a report of a single vehicle rollover crash.
Upon arrival, troopers encountered a 2000 Toyota Camry and a total of five victims with serious injuries. The operator, a 34-year-old man, and two of the passengers, a 22-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, all from Brockton, were entrapped in the vehicle. Two additional passengers, a 23-year-old man from Bridgewater man and a 21-year-old Brockton man had been ejected from the vehicle. All parties sustained serious injuries.
The Bridgewater man who had been ejected and the 24-year-old Brockton man were transported to Boston Medical Center by medical helicopter. The 21-year-old Brockton man who also had been ejected was transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center. The operator and the 22-year-old passenger were transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital.
Responding troopers were assisted on scene by troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the Norfolk County State Police Detective Unit. Fire, rescue and EMS personnel responded from the towns of Westwood, Canton, Randolph and Milton. The vehicle was removed by Interstate Towing, and the ramp was subsequently opened at approximately 5:20 a.m.
Preliminary investigation indicates that excessive speed was likely a factor; however, the details of the crash remains under investigation by Trooper Brian Mahoney and the members of the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and no charges have been filed at this time.

Operator (entrapped 34 year old male) – stable at MGH Passenger (entrapped 22 year old male) – stable at MGH Passenger (entrapped 24 year old male) – stable at BMC Passenger (ejected 23 year old male) – fair at BMC Passenger (ejected 21 year old male) – stable at BMC
