Massachusetts State Police Media Release – 09102017 – State Police Investigating Double Shooting on Southeast Expressway in Dorchester
This evening at about 5:10 p.m., State Police from the South Boston Barracks responded to a report of two motorcyclists who had been shot by the occupant of a vehicle as they traveled on Route 93 Southbound, just prior to Exit 12 in Dorchester.
Preliminary information collected in this investigation indicates that two men were traveling on Route 93 Southbound, each on his own motorcycle, when they were shot by an occupant of what is believed to be a red, Jeep Renegade, which was also traveling southbound at the time.
The two motorcycle operators, both adult males, were transported to hospitals for treatment of serious injuries, one to Tufts Medical Center and the other to Boston Medical Center.
The shooter’s vehicle fled the scene, continuing on Route 93 Southbound.
The is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by troopers assigned to Troop H and State Police Detectives assigned to Troop H and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. The vehicle and suspects are still being sought at this time.
